La caserma "Bellevue", costruita dalla città nel 1911, consisteva in una ventina di edifici destinati a ospitare tre battaglioni. Il 174° reggimento di fanteria si trasferì il 1° luglio 1911. Dopo il 1918, la caserma prese il nome di "Bataille" in memoria del generale Henri Jules Bataille (1816-1882) che si era distinto alla testa della 2ª Divisione durante la battaglia di Forbach-Spicheren il 6 agosto 1870.
