El monumento a la 4ª División Australiana rinde homenaje a los soldados australianos de la Primera Guerra Mundial.
Esta división fue creada en febrero de 1916 en Egipto para defender el Canal de Suez. En junio fue enviada a Francia, al Somme, para ayudar a las divisiones 1ª y 2ª.
Luego participó en un asalto a la Línea Hindenburg en abril de 1917 en Bullecourt (Pas-de-Calais).
Luego, en marzo de 1918, fue enviada al Somme para hacer frente a la ofensiva alemana.
El 29 de septiembre de 1918, con los británicos y los estadounidenses, la 4ª División Australiana participó en la toma de la Línea Hindenburg en el puente de Riqueval, entre Bellenglise y Bellicourt.
