El municipio de Combreux ya era una parroquia en el siglo XVI. La iglesia actual es la tercera que se construye en el territorio del municipio.
La primera, de modestas dimensiones, fue construida en fecha desconocida y estaba situada en lo que hoy es el parque del castillo. Fue "no sólo incendiada, sino arruinada hasta los cimientos" durante las Guerras de Religión.
La segunda se construyó en el emplazamiento actual en 1636. Durante el siglo XIX, estuvo en peligro de derrumbarse, fue demolido y sustituido en 1869 por el edificio que conocemos hoy, que tiene la particularidad de no estar orientado, sino que está construido sobre un eje norte-sur. La iglesia está dedicada a San Pedro y también alberga las reliquias de Santa Filomena.
