La alfarería Baleine de Laàs es un lugar bastante atípico. Hervé Billard tiene allí su taller con todas sus creaciones, pero es en el exterior donde se encuentra un extraño ejemplar: el horno de leña, o horno anagama (escuela japonesa), que recuerda extrañamente a una ballena. Hervé Billard le explicará con pasión su profesión de alfarero de gres y el uso excepcional de este horno subterráneo para producir piezas de gran finura, a veces incluso originales (ballenas). Todos estos esmaltes no contienen plomo (son aptos para el lavavajillas y el microondas). También hay cursos para niños y adultos.
