La compra en 2013 de la Sénéchalerie, el Vieux Palais y el vasto jardín ha permitido renovar estos espacios y abrir el jardín al público.
El Jardin de la Sénéchaussée, idealmente situado en el centro de la ciudad, cerca de la Cité de l'Écrit y de la Oficina de Turismo, es un jardín que se extiende sobre una notable superficie de 5000m².
Protegido como Monumento Histórico, este jardín se encuentra a lo largo del río Gartempe.
Considerado inicialmente como un jardín formal, era también un jardín alimentario, con fotos antiguas que muestran flores y árboles frutales.
Durante su rediseño, el propietario quiso respetar el trazado original realizando algunas modernizaciones, por ejemplo, los caminos de boj se sustituyeron por bordes de flores, jardines de rosas, pero también por caminos cubiertos con cenadores y pérgolas.
