La A57 es una carretera importante en Inglaterra. Va hacia el este desde Liverpool hasta Lincoln, pasando por Warrington, Cadishead, Irlam, Patricroft, Eccles, Salford y Manchester, luego atraviesa los Peninos sobre el Snake Pass (entre los altos páramos de Bleaklow y Kinder Scout), alrededor del embalse de Ladybower, a través de Sheffield y más allá de Worksop. Dentro de Manchester, un corto tramo se convierte en la autopista A57(M) (el Mancunian Way).
