La región de Buje se extiende desde el río Mirna hasta el río Dragonja, que también marca la línea fronteriza con la República de Eslovenia. Esta es un área con colinas en forma de olas cubiertas de viñedos, olivares y campos salpicados de encinas, alcornoques y bosques de pinos, así como praderas mediterráneas con tomillo silvestre y abetos, y un cinturón kárstico lleno de fenómenos geológicos interesantes. Hoy en día, toda la región de Buje es la parte vinícola más famosa de Istria, con numerosas bodegas y casas de campo (agroturismo). Hay encantadores pueblos medievales en las cercanías; los más famosos son Gronjan, Momjan y Završje.
