El castillo de Triana está situado en la fracción homónima al este de Roccalbegna, que surgió como antiguo asentamiento rural en el primer Medievo.
El lugar se menciona desde el 760, pero la existencia del castillo se atestigua solo por la división de los bienes de los Aldobrandeschi de 1216, cuando fue asignado a la rama de Santa Fiora. En 1388, Triana fue comprada por la familia senes de los Piccolomini, que la convirtieron en sede de una señoría rural durante el transcurso del Cinquecento.
