Tetuán , en ocasiones conocida con el sobrenombre de "La paloma blanca", es una ciudad del norte de Marruecos, ubicada en las proximidades del mar Mediterráneo, cerca de Tánger y de la ciudad española de Ceuta. La provincia o wilaya de Tetuán tiene 550 374 habitantes y la ciudad alrededor de 380 787 habitantes, según el censo de 2014.[1] Es la ciudad con más rasgos andalusíes de Marruecos.
Entre 1913 y 1956, Tetuán fue la capital del «protectorado» español de Marruecos. Desde 1999, ha sido la principal residencia veraniega del monarca marroquí Mohamed VI, que cuenta con una mansión en la cercana playa de Rincón.
