Tétouan is de hoofdstad van de gelijknamige provincie Tétouan in het noorden van Marokko en het culturele centrum van de regio Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma. Tétouan heeft meer dan 500.000 inwoners.
De stad ligt ongeveer 60 kilometer ten oosten van de stad Tanger en ook niet ver van Ceuta en de Straat van Gibraltar. De stad bevindt zich ten noord-westen van het Rifgebergte.
