En 1892 se inauguró el primer baño en Alkmaar en Kwerenpad. El edificio fue visitado durante años por muchos que no tenían instalaciones de baño en casa. El baño se construyó en la época en que las primeras villas en el barrio Emmakwartier fueron equipadas con un propio baño con bañera. ¡En el baño, por supuesto, había diferentes horarios de visita para damas y caballeros!
Este baño fue diseñado por el arquitecto de la ciudad, G. Looman, en el estilo neorrenacentista, que era muy popular en aquel entonces.
