Simpelveld se encuentra en la llamada Miljoenenlijntje, que se construyó en su momento para el transporte de carbón de las minas y que hoy en día solo tiene una función turística. En esta línea, ahora durante los meses de verano y los domingos, circula un tren de vapor de la Sociedad de Trenes de Vapor del Sur de Limburgo. Desde Simpelveld, se conecta con otra línea en dirección a Bocholtz y la ciudad alemana de Vetschau. En esta línea circula un autobús ferroviario. Originalmente, continuaba hacia la ciudad de Aquisgrán, pero esa parte ha estado fuera de uso desde 1992.
