Simpelveld si trova sulla cosiddetta Miljoenenlijntje, che fu costruita all'epoca per il trasporto di carbone dalle miniere e che oggi ha solo una funzione turistica. Su questa linea ora durante i mesi estivi e la domenica circola un treno a vapore della Zuid-Limburgse Stoomtrein Maatschappij. A Simpelveld si dirama da questa linea un'altra linea verso Bocholtz e la città tedesca di Vetschau. Su questa linea circola un railbus. Originariamente proseguiva fino alla città di Aquisgrana, ma quella parte è fuori uso dal 1992.
