Voerendaal es una aldea en el sur de la provincia neerlandesa de Limburgo y es la capital del municipio homónimo. La población en el núcleo y la zona rural cuenta con aproximadamente 8,495 habitantes.
La aldea tiene una historia que se remonta al siglo XI; el primer documento en el que se menciona a Voerendaal es, según se conoce, un privilegio del 20 de junio de 1065. En este privilegio se menciona la dedicación de la Iglesia de San Lorenzo por el Papa León IX, que supuestamente tuvo lugar el 10 de agosto de 1049. La Iglesia de San Lorenzo, situada en el centro, es la única iglesia dedicada por un papa en los Países Bajos. No hay documentos más antiguos, pero los historiadores sospechan que la aldea debe ser mucho más antigua. Cerca de la monumental granja Ten Hove se han encontrado restos de una villa romana, la Villa Rustica Voerendaal-Ten Hove. Además, se han descubierto muchos otros restos de construcciones romanas.
