En una hermosa propiedad, cerca de Renesse en unas 45 hectáreas de terreno, descubrirá "Landgoed Moermond". Fue fundado alrededor de 1229 por Constantijn van Zierikzee.
Los habitantes más conocidos son sin duda Jan van Renesse (un amigo personal de Floris de V.) y Witte van Haamstede. Debido a batallas, el castillo fue destruido en dos ocasiones, pero siempre fue reconstruido.
Después de la inundación de 1953, una profunda restauración en 1955 devolvió el castillo a su estado original. Desde la construcción de la Defensa Contra Inundaciones en el Oosterschelde, el castillo se utiliza, entre otras cosas, como centro de conferencias que el mundo empresarial y el gobierno suelen aprovechar.
