Op een fraai landgoed, vlakbij Renesse op zo'n 45 hectare grond ontdekt u " Landgoed Moermond". Het werd rond 1229 gesticht door Constantijn van Zierikzee.
De bekendste bewoners zijn ongetwijfeld Jan van Renesse (een persoonlijke vriend van Floris de V.) en Witte van Haamstede. Door veldslagen werd het slot tot tweemaal toe verwoest, maar telkens weer herbouwd.
Na de watersnoodramp van 1953 bracht een grondige restauratie in 1955 het slot weer in de originele staat terug. Sinds de bouw van de Stormvloedkering in de Oosterschelde, is het Slot o.a. in gebruik als congrescentrum waar het bedrijfsleven en de overheid graag gebruik van maken.
