In una bella tenuta, vicino a Renesse, su un terreno di circa 45 ettari, scoprite "Landgoed Moermond". Fu fondato intorno al 1229 da Costantino di Zierikzee.
I più famosi residenti sono senza dubbio Jan van Renesse (un amico personale di Floris de V.) e Witte van Haamstede. A causa delle battaglie, il castello è stato distrutto due volte, ma è stato ricostruito ogni volta.
Dopo l’alluvione del 1953, una profonda ristrutturazione nel 1955 ha riportato il castello allo stato originale. Dalla costruzione della barriera contro le maree nell'Oosterschelde, il castello è utilizzato anche come centro congressi dal settore privato e dal governo.
