Auf einem schönen Anwesen, nahe Renesse auf etwa 45 Hektar Land, entdecken Sie "Landgoed Moermond". Es wurde um 1229 von Constantijn van Zierikzee gegründet.
Die bekanntesten Bewohner sind zweifellos Jan van Renesse (ein persönlicher Freund von Floris de V.) und Witte van Haamstede. Durch Schlachten wurde das Schloss zweimal zerstört, aber jedes Mal wieder aufgebaut.
Nach der Flutkatastrophe von 1953 brachte eine gründliche Restaurierung im Jahr 1955 das Schloss wieder in den originalen Zustand zurück. Seit dem Bau des Stormflutschutzdamms in der Oosterschelde wird das Schloss unter anderem als Kongresszentrum genutzt, das von der Wirtschaft und der Regierung gerne in Anspruch genommen wird.
