Twello es un pueblo con aproximadamente 13,675 habitantes en el municipio de Voorst, en la provincia holandesa de Gelderland. El pueblo está situado en un entorno rural entre las ciudades de Deventer y Apeldoorn, cerca del río IJssel. El ayuntamiento del municipio de Voorst se encuentra en Twello. En el siglo XIV se llamaba Twenlo, pero también aparecen otras formas como; Twelle, Twelloe, Twelloo, Twenle, Twenlo y Twenloe. Cada vez se pueden reconocer dos palabras: "twee" y "loo", que significan algo así como dos bosques o doble bosque.
