En la compra de Gooilust, una de las fincas de 's-Graveland, en 1777 Gerrit Corver Hooft, el último balío del Gooi, recibió en arrendamiento una gran parte del posterior Corversbos. En el bosque aún se encuentran algunas granjas. En los campos del Corversbos se han encontrado herramientas de piedra de los primeros habitantes del Gooi, los neandertales de hace aproximadamente 250,000 años. Estas herramientas se pueden admirar en el Centro de Información Arqueológica de la Provincia de Noord-Holland en Castricum.
