La ciudad de Bergen op Zoom en los Países Bajos fue objeto de dos asedios distintos, en 1588 y 1622, durante la Guerra de los Ochenta Años. En ambos, los ejércitos españoles sitiaron y posteriormente se retiraron de la ciudad ante las fuerzas de las Provincias Unidas.
Desde 1568 se libraba en los Países Bajos la Guerra de los Ochenta Años, en la que los ejércitos de las Provincias Unidas intentaban conseguir su independencia del Imperio español.
