El nombre Driebruggen probablemente se refiere a tres puentes: el puente sobre el Wiericke Doble, el puente al final del núcleo del pueblo cerca de la Casa del Pueblo Custwijc. Y anteriormente había un tercer puente más pequeño entre estos dos puentes. Probablemente estaba ubicado en la intersección de Kerkweg con Sierkersstraat, de la cual ahora no queda nada.
En Driebruggen se pueden encontrar algunos edificios históricos. 't Hooge Huys en la orilla sur del Wiericke Doble es el más antiguo y data del siglo XVII. En Kerkweg se encuentra la antigua casa del médico, que es de 1885, y la antigua casa municipal de 1928.
