De Balij es un joven bosque entre Zoetermeer, Pijnacker-Nootdorp y Delft que consta de un bosque natural, un bosque pantanoso, caminos para caminar y andar en bicicleta, y un bosque de juegos. También hay una granja urbana en el borde de De Balij. Junto con el Bosque Bieslande, De Balij forma una pieza de 'pulmón verde' de 15 kilómetros de largo entre Zoetermeer y Delft. De Balij tiene 360 hectáreas.
