Los antiguos edificios de defensa Z18a y Z18b (Zuidkampweg 23 y 21) en ’t Vaneker resultaron ser un lugar de cría y refugio para murciélagos enanos. Como compensación se construyó este hotel para murciélagos, lo más cerca posible de su antiguo lugar de residencia.
El hotel está integrado en ’t Vaneker: el diseño tiene encanto, pero es sencillo en su concepción, de modo que se incorpora en el entorno verde. El hotel para murciélagos tiene una altura de 6,75 metros y está construido de madera y mampostería.
