El Canal Rangsit fue el primer proyecto de irrigación en Tailandia. El Rey Chulalongkorn ordenó su construcción en 1890 y designó al Príncipe Sai Sanitvongse (abuelo materno del Príncipe Rangsit) como líder del proyecto.
