Wat Song Huai en la Antigua Ciudad de Mae Tan no tiene evidencia histórica de su establecimiento. Sin embargo, el estilo arquitectónico de las estructuras y artefactos sugiere que este templo fue establecido en el período Lan Na en el siglo XV. El sitio de un salón de ordenación (ubosot) con la estupa principal detrás de él, un salón de asambleas (vihara) y algunas estupas más pequeñas están todos rodeados por una muralla perimetral. También hay un horno antiguo y la parte sur consiste en siete edificios antiguos, que se supone que fueron el área residencial de los monjes. Este sitio arqueológico fue excavado y restaurado por la 6ª Oficina Regional de Bellas Artes, Sukhothai en el año 2018 E.C.
