Wat Song Huai in Mae Tan Ancient Town heeft geen historische bewijzen van zijn oprichting. Toch suggereert de architectonische stijl van de structuren en artefacten dat deze tempel is opgericht in de Lan Na-periode in de 15e eeuw. De locatie van een wijdingshal (ubosot) met de belangrijkste stupa erachter, een vergaderhal (vihara) en enkele kleinere stupas zijn allemaal omgeven door een grensmuur. Er is ook een oude oven en het zuidelijke deel bestaat uit zeven oude gebouwen, die verondersteld worden de woonruimte voor de monniken te zijn geweest. Deze archeologische site is opgegraven en gerestaureerd door het 6e Regionale Kantoor voor Schone Kunsten, Sukhothai in 2018 n.Chr.
