Wat Song Huai dans la ville ancienne de Mae Tan n'a pas de preuves historiques de son établissement. Néanmoins, le style architectural des structures et des artefacts suggère que ce temple a été établi pendant la période Lan Na au 15ème siècle. Le site d'une salle d'ordination (ubosot) avec le stupa principal derrière elle, une salle d'assemblée (vihara), et quelques petits stupas sont tous entourés d'un mur de clôture. Il y a aussi un ancien four et la partie sud se compose de sept anciens bâtiments, supposés avoir été la zone résidentielle des moines. Ce site archéologique a été excavé et restauré par le 6ème Bureau régional des beaux-arts de Sukhothai en 2018 CE.
