La Rue des Bouchers, chantée par Johan Verminnen, était devenue ces dernières années un piège à touristes où il valait mieux ne pas aller, et certainement pas pour manger. La Ville de Bruxelles a réagi sévèrement en 2018. Il était déjà interdit d'attirer les gens avec des formules de repas attractives. Maintenant, les terrasses et les auvents caractéristiques devaient également disparaître pour garantir la sécurité incendie. Un camion de pompiers doit en effet pouvoir passer dans la rue, ont déclaré les services municipaux. Résultat : un tiers des restaurants ont fermé. Peu à peu, la vie revient dans la rue, avec un souci de diversité des commerces.
