La Spermaliehoeve a été reconstruite en 1920. À l'origine (un peu avant 1200), un monastère de l'Ordre de Cîteaux se trouvait à cet endroit. Les religieuses y pratiquaient principalement l'agriculture et défrichaient de grandes parcelles de terre. Déjà au 13ème siècle, les sœurs ont déménagé vers Sijsele. La ferme pittoresque fait partie des exemples typiques des fermes polder avec une porte d'entrée monumentale. L'écu et l'année de la ferme sont mentionnés dans la porte. Les différents bâtiments sont regroupés autour de la cour carrée. Le matériau utilisé est principalement la brique. La Spermaliehoeve est exploitée comme ferme de vacances et est également connue pour les concerts annuels de Willem Vermandere.
