De Spermaliehoeve werd herbouwd in 1920. Oorspronkelijk (iets voor 1200) stond op die plaats een klooster van de Orde van Citeaux. De kloosterzusters verrichten er vooral landbouw en polderden hiervoor grote stukken grond in. Al in de 13de eeuw verhuisden de zusters naar Sijsele. De schilderachtige hoeve behoort tot de voorbeelden van de typische polderhoeven met monumentale toegangspoort. Het schild en het jaartal van de hoeve worden in de poort vermeld. De verschillende gebouwen staan rond het vierkantige erf gegroepeerd. Het gebruikte materiaal is vooral baksteen. De Spermaliehoeve wordt als vakantiehoeve uitgebaat en is ook gekend voor de jaarlijkse optredens van Willem Vermandere.
