Lophem, ou Loppem est une section de la commune belge de Zedelgem située en Région flamande dans la province de Flandre-Occidentale. Le village est une section de Zedelgem depuis 1977.En octobre 1918, au cours de la libération et peu après la fin de la Première Guerre mondiale, le roi Albert Ier s'est installé au château de Lophem. Le 21 novembre 1918, le gouvernement de Lophem y fut constitué : le premier gouvernement où les socialistes, les libéraux et les catholiques étaient unis dans une même coalition. C'est ce gouvernement qui accorde le suffrage universel masculin en Belgique après l'épisode du «coup de Lophem».
