Le très vieux village d'Ocquier (600 habitants) est situé sur le plateau du Condroz dans la vallée du Néblon, un affluent de l'Ourthe. Dans la Chienrue, la rue où l'on a durement combattu en 1653 contre les troupes françaises de Condé, se trouve la petite église romane de Saint Remaclus. La tour, dans laquelle les villageois se cachaient en cas de danger, date du 17e siècle, la cour des moines du 11e siècle. L'hôtel Castel de Val d'Or, une ancienne fermette et relais pour chevaux, a été rebâti après la destruction par les Français.
