Alfred Orban-Vanvolxem a effectué des travaux ici vers 1893.
Orban a également fait dessiner et installer le Jardin Français entre le Château et l'Orangerie. C'est pourquoi ce domaine est appelé dans le langage populaire français 'le parc d'Orban'.
Cependant, dans le langage populaire néerlandophone, ce domaine est plutôt appelé 'Paolapark', car l'ancienne Orangerie y était systématiquement mentionnée avec la magnifique allitération 'le Pavillon Paola'.
Le nom 'Drie Fonteinen' semble provenir de trois fontaines qui ont été prévues dans la partie basse près des étangs, au niveau de l'ancienne écluse du canal Bruxelles-Willebroek (aujourd'hui le Canal Maritime en raison de sa connexion directe avec l'Escaut à Wintam).
