Durant la période de reproduction, ce sentier est fermé afin de ne pas déranger, entre autres, la colonie de hérons cendrés. La forêt abrite le pic vert et le faucon émerillon. Et un couple de cigognes. Leur nid avec les oiseaux adultes peut être bien observé depuis la piste cyclable Polderstraat près du restaurant D'hoeve. En hiver, la zone est visitée par des bécasses et des chardonnerets. Tout au long de l'année, des rapaces tels que le sparrowhawk et le buse passent ici.
