I yngletiden er denne ekstra gangsti lukket for at undgå at forstyrre koloniens blå hejrer. Skoven giver husly til den grønne spætte og træhøgen. Og et par storke. Deres rede med forældrefuglene kan du let se fra cykelstien Polderstraat ved restaurant D'hoeve. Om vinteren får området besøg af skovhornisser og frøer. Hele året opholder rovfugle som spurvehøg og musvåge sig her.
