Ce petit parc paisible nait au début du XXe siècle dans le cadre du percement du boulevard du Souverain. Le parc, et plus particulièrement son étang, est fréquenté par de nombreux oiseaux : poules d’eau, ouettes d’Egypte, colverts, hérons et bien plus encore y ont élu domicile. 16 des 18 types de chauve-souris répertoriées en Belgique en ont également fait leur terrain de chasse de prédilection. Le parc comporte de nombreux arbres qualifiés d’« arbres remarquables » de la région bruxelloise.
