Après la descente de la Graafdreef, nous nous retrouvons dans une vallée alimentée par la Wollenborre, un petit ruisseau d'eau de source actif surtout en hiver. Cette Wollenborre se jette dans le Hoefijzer où, sur le pont en bois, vous avez une belle vue sur cette étendue d'eau en forme de fer à cheval. Avec un peu de chance, vous pouvez entendre et voir le grèbe huppé ici. Nous continuons notre promenade en direction est le long d'un chemin étroit et nous passons ici les étangs des Enfants noyés (altération du nom Verdoncken, ndlr) qui ont également le statut de réserve naturelle avec des végétations et une faune précieuses. Le Karregatbeek relie ces étangs depuis le Hoefijzervijver.
