La maison située à l'angle de la rue Catrice est représentative du style Louis XIV à Tournai dans le dernier tiers du XVIIe siècle : un volume massif en brique et pierre calcaire de deux niveaux surmonté d'un toit à pignon avec un toit frontal en croupe.
Les deux maisons romanes suivantes sont des témoins exceptionnels de l' architecture civile du XIIe siècle . Ils auraient été construits entre 1175 et 1200 pour les échevins de Saint Brice. Une porte et une baie vitrée reconstruite avec des fenêtres à meneaux subsistent au rez-de-chaussée du n°12.
