La Kleine Aue, qui se jette dans la Große Aue à Barenburg, est la branche inférieure de deux affluents homonymes de cet affluent de la Weser. Elle a une longueur de 18,2 km et coule exclusivement dans le district de Diepholz.
La rivière commence au sud-ouest de Scholen en tant que partie sud de cette pseudobifurcation dans la lande de Scholener Geestmoor, d'où le Bassumer Klosterbach s'écoule vers le nord en direction de l'Ochtum.
