De Kleine Aue, die in Barenburg in die Große Aue mündet, is de onderste van twee gelijknamige zijrivieren van deze zijrivier van de Weser. Hij heeft een lengte van 18,2 km en stroomt uitsluitend door de Landkreis Diepholz.
De rivier begint ten zuidwesten van Scholen als het zuidelijke deel van die pseudobifurkatie in het Scholener Geestmoor, waarvan de Bassumer Klosterbach naar het noorden in de richting van de Ochtum stroomt.
