Il piccolo Aue, che sfocia nella Grande Aue a Barenburg, è il ramo inferiore di due affluenti omonimi di questo affluente della Weser. Ha una lunghezza di 18,2 km e scorre esclusivamente nel distretto di Diepholz.
Il fiume inizia a sud-ovest di Scholen come parte meridionale di quella pseudobiforcazione nel Geestmoor di Scholenen, da cui scorre a nord il Klosterbach di Bassum in direzione dell'Ochtum.
