Le domaine de Rothensiek est situé à Leopoldstal, un quartier de la ville de Horn-Bad Meinberg, non loin de Detmold et de Paderborn dans la forêt de Teutobourg. Le portail du domaine datant de 1687 est classé monument historique.
En 1481, Hermann Trumpe, en tant que meunier qualifié et serviteur du comte lippe Bernhard VII, a reçu les terres autour de l'actuel domaine de Rothensiek en tant que fief. Dans les documents, une Ilseke Trumpe est mentionnée en tant que « servante et bislepersche » à son service, qui avait au moins 11 enfants illégitimes avec le comte. Si elle était la sœur de Hermann Trumpe à Rodensiek, cela expliquerait la bienveillance de son ancien seigneur.
