La maison Balken est un manoir dans le quartier de Marienbaum à Xanten. Elle se trouve à sept kilomètres au nord-ouest de Xanten, sur la B57 en direction de Kalkar, et a été construite à partir d'une maison forte érigée au début du 15e siècle pour sécuriser la frontière. Ruinée pendant la guerre de Quatre-Vingt ans et ensuite reconstruit, elle a été vendue lors d'une enchère à Wilhelm van Essen, qui a complètement transformé le bâtiment. La maison est classée monument historique depuis 1987 et est aujourd'hui la résidence de la famille d'entrepreneurs Underberg. Elle n'est pas accessible au public.
