La zone de loisirs locale Waldbad Zeischa est située à l’est de la ville thermale de Bad Liebenwerda, dans le sud du Brandebourg, entre les quartiers de Dobra et Zeischa sur la route fédérale 101.
En 1888, le marchand et fabricant de Liebenwerda, Carl Weiland, a commencé à exploiter du gravier et du sable au nord-est de Zeischa. Pour l’instant, les matières premières étaient extraites manuellement. Au fur et à mesure que la production augmentait, des pelles à chaîne à godets ont également été utilisées dans la fosse. Le transport depuis la fosse était effectué au moyen d’un train léger.
