Le château de Burg-Metternich est situé à Beilstein sur la Moselle, dans le Land de Rhénanie-Palatinat en Allemagne, et fait partie du district de Cochem-Zell.
En 1268, la famille noble Von Braunshorn était propriétaire du château, en tant que vassaux de l'archevêché de Cologne. C'est par Lisa von Braunshorn que le château est devenu la propriété de la famille de son mari, Kuno von Winnenberg. En 1371, le château passa sous l'autorité souveraine du électorat du Palatinat. En 1637, la famille Von Metternich devint propriétaire du château. Il fut détruit par les Français en 1689. Le dernier propriétaire connu était le chancelier autrichien Metternich. Par la suite, le château changea plusieurs fois de propriétaire.
