Schalbruch est un endroit dans la commune allemande de Selfkant dans l'État de Rhénanie-Westphalie. C'est un soi-disant village de rue et il se situe dans la partie nord de la commune de Selfkant, à la frontière néerlandaise-allemande. Tout près se trouve la réserve naturelle de Hohbruch.
La première mention du nom, Schaltbroich, date de 1558. La signification du nom est probablement "marais où l'écorce était pelée". Schaltbruch faisait partie du Duché de Juliers. La forêt marécageuse voisine était la limite entre les seigneuries de Valkenburg et de Millen. En 1828, Schalbruch comptait 320 habitants et faisait partie de la commune de Havert. Du 23 avril 1949 au 31 juillet 1963, le Selfkant et donc Schalbruch étaient sous administration néerlandaise.
