La cathédrale du Quirinus est considérée comme un excellent exemple de l’architecture sacrée de la période de transition du roman au gothique en Allemagne. Il reste l’emblème de la ville de Neuss. Il a été construit entre 1209 et 1230. Le 6 octobre 2009, l’église a été élevée au statut de basilique mineure par le pape Benoît XVI.
