La plage de Mexota appartient au conseil de Tapia de Casariego et se situe dans la localité espagnole de Santa Gadea. Elle fait partie de la Côte Occidentale des Asturies et bénéficie d'une protection environnementale en étant classée comme ZEPA et LIC. Ses sables sont blancs et son danger est moyen. Elle reçoit peu de baigneurs, bien qu'elle se trouve dans un environnement urbain. Sa forme est rectiligne, elle a une longueur d'environ 240 mètres et une largeur d'environ 60 mètres. Les accès sont de type piétonnier mais simples, à moins de 500 mètres.
