La spiaggia di Mexota appartiene al comune di Tapia de Casariego ed è situata nella località spagnola di Santa Gadea.[3]Fa parte della Costa Occidentale delle Asturie e presenta protezione ambientale poiché è catalogata come ZEPA e LIC.[2]La sua sabbia è bianca e il suo grado di pericolosità è medio. Ha poca affluenza di bagnanti, anche se si trova in un contesto urbano. La sua forma è rettilinea, ha una lunghezza di circa 240 metri e una larghezza di circa 60 metri. Gli accessi sono pedonali ma semplici, inferiori a 500 m.
